英文文法問題being?

Colony life has many advantages, "and" one of the most important advantages "is" increased protection for the entire group.
這樣寫時是一個「對等句」(compound sentence)，對等連接詞and所帶出的兩個子句裡的 「訊息」同等重要，本句作為一個段落的主題句時，在同段落的後續句子裡，這兩個訊息都會得到發展（即繼續討論）。

但寫成：Colony life has many advantages, one of the most important advantages "being" increased protection for the entire group.
就成了一個「簡單句」(simple sentence)：主句＋分詞構句（分詞構句的邏輯主詞不同於主句的主詞，只是受詞的其中之一，所以要寫出來）。這樣一來，只有主題句的主句訊息才會在後續的句子裡繼續討論。分詞構句裡資訊則是到此為止。（而名詞advantages在第二次該出現時省略，只剩下形容詞the most important，是為避免重複）

這是英文寫作時的手法：一個段落的topic sentence（主題句）會用到這種方法。讓讀者較容易分辨全段的主題是什麼。後面的各句發展順著這個主題句指引的方向發展，才是通順易讀的文章。

答案B/C的選用會造成句構錯誤（造成兩個無關的子句）。因為原句裡沒有使用「對等」或「從屬」連接詞，不能形成合理的句構。

看看下面這兩個句子的變化：
English has an alphabet "that consists of 26 letters."
= English has an alphabet "consisting of 26 letters."
修飾語由「形容詞子句」變成了「分詞片語」。
complex sentence變成了simple sentence

The day was fine, and we decided to go swimming.
The day "being" fine, we decided to go swimming.
「對等句」變成了「簡單句」：簡單句＝分詞構句＋主句。

因為這句子是關係子句的簡化(reduction of relative clause); 在簡化過程中,我們會刪去關係代詞(只能在主詞位置),而將動詞改變為它的現在分詞.  而"being"就是動詞"is" 的現在分詞.

如果要深入解釋,我们可以倒過來看, 這句子可以拆成兩個獨立的簡單句子:
Colony life has many advantages.
One of the most important advantages is increased protection for the entire group.

因為兩句中都出現了advantages這字,原則上(*註)是可以用關係子句來合併成為一複合句(complex sentence):
Colony life has many advantages, one of the most important which is increased protection for the entire group.

*註: 如果關係代詞的位置屬性是以下其中一項: (1) subject; (2) direct object; (3) prepositional complement (即介詞的受詞一部份).  
上述句子屬於第一種, advantages是主詞的一部份中, 介詞"of"的受詞.

The participles active,present=going
For passive=being gone.
has + is + being=3 verbs in a sentence !?
when is---> being(past participle, passive adjective) can put the is,v, in subordinate clause.
The phrase=of the most important(no comma before) being=passive adjective, also =2nd advantage---------------------- (o)
eg:-On rearrangement of sentence:-
Advantage of the most important being increased protection for the entire group (is)(not has been=past perfect tense)the colony.
"being increased protection for the entire group" is an adjective phrase, subordinate clause to the subject 'Advantage".
(b) is correct if used here.

這重點在那逗點和increased 

只說+increased :

(b)現在被動
(c)現在完成被動

這後段句子就不是被動句捏..

省略連接詞 (because), 主詞不同 保留主詞而且被動語態 必須  S+  (being) + PPbeing可 省略= Colony life has many advantages, one of the most important  (being) increased protection for the entire group..

Colony life has many advantages, one of the most important being increased protection for the entire group.
其中one of (the most important 均做修飾用可先省略分析 )，(being increased protection 因在介詞of之後需用動名詞片語，且本句屬被動語態用being，若是过去式則可寫成having been increased protection )for the entire group.

不能用B&C答案因無主詞，
