Is my morning after pill working?

I (19,F) was having sex with my boyfriend (M,20) on the third day of my period, and he ejaculated. My period usually lasts 4-5 days. My boyfriend and I usually engage in unprotected sex but he would pull out (it’s not safe, I know, but we never engaged during my period before so this is something we do out of the norm) I was thinking that it would be fine for him to ejaculate inside me because technically I don’t have any eggs in my body at that point of time, but we got worried after so we went to get the morning after pill. We went to get it the next morning, around 18 hours after exposure. I read that after taking the pill, you will bleed more, and feel nauseous and more hormonal (i did feel those two symptoms). However, my period stopped almost immediately after taking the pill as instructed: 1 pill, and 1 more pill 12 hours later. It has been 3 days since I’ve taken the pill. Am I okay? Is the pill working or should I be worried?

-- As you had sex during your period there is no way you could become pregnant, and the "morning after pill" was unnecessary.
-- During your period you are expelling the dead unfertilized egg and dead skin lining in the uterus. -- You would not be "fertile" until midway through your cycle (around 14-15 days prior to the start of your next period).
-- A regular period normally lasts only 3-4 days, and sometimes 5 days, so you took the "morning after pill" on what is supposedly the last day of your period. That is why it stopped the same day.

If having sex during period, there's no need for morning after pills since there's no ovulation occurring to make ova (eggs) to get pregnant. It's normally safe to have unprotected sex for the week of period and up to 3 days before and after that.

I'm sure you are just fine. However you can ovulate during period blood - it's rare that the ovum would implant at that time as the uterus is not receptive till the bleeding stops.

Next time do oral or anal and you won't have this problem.
