What do I make of this situation??

My band teacher has never really been a fan of me (I think she has something against trumpet players, she favorites percussion, tubas,and clarinets.) Anyway we have this project in our classroom where there is a little tree and we are supposed to write kind notes and clip them to the tree. I wrote one to her that told her she was an awesome teacher, and all of a sudden asked me if I wanted a solo and hugged me. It was weird??

Maybe she had the impression you didn't like her or the way she was teaching the class. Your note to her must have made her feel good. Random act of kindnesses can do wonders for a person.
