You really need to get a medical workup and find out WHY you can't sleep. Not all physical exams will tell you that, but they will be a start. Anxiety and depression can cause sleeplessness. So can using any sort of "screen" (i.e., cellphone, computer, tablet, television) within an hour of going to bed. The blue light from the screens keeps your brain active. So can eating some foods right before bed--or NOT eating some foods. The room temperature makes a difference. There are so many reasons for sleeplessness they can't all be detailed here. Talk to your doctor. Tell him or her all your habits. Keep a log of what you eat during the day. Limit your phone use within an hour of trying to go to bed. Lower your bedroom temperature.
Also-at your age, sleeplessness is NOT UNCOMMON. If you are female, it could be a sign of menopause or peri-menopause. You may be experiencing hormonal changes that make a difference in your sleep schedule. All these things can contribute to insomnia. There is no one cause, in 99% of cases.
See your doctor. Get a physical and find out if there are underlying causes.

I would suggest that but I don’t know what medications you’re on not do I know what diseases or conditions you have and whether it may interact (extremely rare for benedryl to interact with other drugs and if it does it’s just more drowsyness generally).
