Suppose you patch a tire and inflated it to a typical value of 250 Kpa (about 37 Ib/in2). Recalling that the atmospheric pressure is 101 Kpa, what is the pressure in the inflated tire?
P = 351,000 PaP = 300,000 PaP = 342,000 PaP = 400,000 Pa

The value of 250 kPa means that the pressure inside the tire is 250 kPa greater than the atmospheric pressure.

Actual pressure in the inflated tire
= (101 + 250) kPa
= 351 kPa
= (351 kPa) × (1000 Pa/kPa)
= 351000 Pa

The answer: P = 351000 Pa
