What kind of flowers are these?

While walking  in Yonkers I saw these flowers growing amidst the grass on the side of a walkway.
They are not dandelions. They look like mums but probably not.
What are they?

They're common daisies, Bellis perennis.
They are not native to North America, but are commonly found there, anyway, as they have come in over the years on imported plants and naturalised there as they spread easily.

Judging by the leaves I am pretty sure that they are an aster, which have more narrowly cut leaves, instead of a daisy, which have more broad leaves.

Yep. Daisies.             .

Asters.  I suggest all the people saying daisies open the picture up in a new tab and blow it up.  There are two plants in the picture.  The broads leaves don't belong to the same plant as the one with the flowers.  The flowers have thin leaves, though thickers than camomille. Also, this is the time of year they flower.

Daisies, for sure, if they were in Britain.

If they are growing at ground level, common daisies {Bellis}, if they are a foot or so tall, then Michaelmas daisies {Aster}. The latter are more often purple than white, but white varieties do exist.
