Yes. We just need to get the right wingers out of the way
It's inevitable. Health insurance companies are for-profit corporations. Like every for-profit corporation they must grow in order to survive. That means they must always increase their profit margin which means higher premiums, higher deductibles, higher copays, and declining coverage options. This has been the trend since the Reagan administration.
But it's impossible to increase profit margins forever because eventually we'll reach parity where the number of people who can afford health insurance starts declining year after year. We've already reached that point as well which is why the Affordable Care Act was introduced.
As it was originally written, the ACA would have led to declining costs and expanding coverage options, but the Republicans intentionally sabotaged the Act by removing the Medicare expansion and the individual mandate. This actually gave America the worst of all worlds - bad coverage that costs more and is available to fewer people.
Hopefully not. Poor people can go to their county hospital for treatment. But the important thing is to get skills so you can work a better paying job that offers health insurance. Your life will be so much better in so many ways.
Yavan is toostupid to realize Conservatism made this country the best in the world.
It's CRUCIAL to 'pro-life' hypocrites that thousands of Americans should die from treatable causes, annually. I might happen, down the road. Not soon, though.
It will happen, sooner or later.
It's all very simple: Neoliberalism is an evil force keeping America backwards, and the main reason for the GOP to continue existing.
Either the GOP and neoliberalism cease existing and the U.S. becomes a XXIst century country, or it slips up and becomes a third world country, lead by neoliberalism and GOP conservatism. There is no future for America with the GOP.
Universal healthcare is something all XXIst century countries have.
nope, liberals will never allow it
thats why liberal have blocked it both times it has been tried
in 1973 and then again in 1993, liberals refused to allow the bills out of committee to be debated or voted on.
Sure. Times change. A simple majority of the voters may one day convert the US to a monarchy. Or to a banana republic under a dictator-for-life (we may be close to that outcome now).
not as long as people let Old Guard politicians in DC do their thinking for them....
look at the list of donors to folks like Pelosi and Biden.... count the number of Big Banks and Big Insurance companies... count how many families like the Cuomos and Newsoms have cronies on the boards of those same companies...
meanwhile, look at every nation with UHC.... look at their immigration and citizenship standards relative to the USA.... anybody here ready to eliminate birthright citizenship?
any young college liberals demanding state-paid tuition also ready to have the state move them to a two-year vocational school so they can learn a trade useful to the state (you do know that is what a lot of "free college" in other countries is...right?)...
the simple fact is that Americans may want UHC....but many want so much more that's higher on their list of priorities and are lucky enough to live in a nation that's usually able to offer it...
Not with many conservatives in the federal and Supreme Court.
Now, its a pipe dream.
Besides, we don't want a government funded program by using our taxes to pay medical bills.
