How do we know that God understands us?

It's a fictional character we created.  If we say he understand us, then he does for the purposes of the story.

We don't.  Just like we cannot possibly know that he even exists.
There is no evidence at all to suggest that any gods are real.

We know the same way we know
about every other property of God.
We take measure of the evidence.

Hey Trilobite.  I know you're always a little late getting to the party, but...  I hate to break it to you here:
NDE's were disproven a little over a decade ago.

Only the Creator knows His creation. As David has stated, God knows every part of us; inside and out. He knows our very thoughts [Proverbs 20:27].  Hence God's provision(s) for man's redemption. God knows it all. Nothing takes Him by surprise.

[Jeremiah 1:5]; [Ecclesiastes 3:11]?" As God's creations, we are uniquely formed and created with a desire and a need to be loved individually! >>This is why intimacy with God is available to us.

Because God fully understands everything. He is omniscient, means "all-knowing". There is nothing that exists, that is not fully understood by God, including all the things scientists are trying to understand, and all the things they have not even discovered.

The Bible  tells us that God knows that we are dust.

Which god? I prefer the ancient Greek gods. They had a variety of gods for different things. God of love. God of war, and so forth and so on. 

He left heaven to come to earth to be one of us for 33 years. And his own people despised and rejected him. 

WE KNOW THAT YHVH GOD UNDERSTANDS US AS HE KNOWS THE NUMBER OF HAIRS ON OUR HEAD AND HE KNOWS OUR NAME.

Does a loving parent understand their little toddler when it throws a hissy-fit? Or when it becomes a teenager and wants to sleep and never to tidy their room? Yes. Even though the loving parent understands but still disciplines the child, causing the child to yell, "You don't understand me!" the parent knows the child far better than it does. Or, when a husband has an extra-marital affair and says, "My wife doesn't understand me", we all know that is a classic case of using a complaint to excuse inexcusable behavior. The wife understands her unfaithful husband better than he understands himself.

We know our Creator understands us because He made us - in His image and likeness. He is as a Father to those who love Him, which includes disciplining us when we are disobedient, and those who draw near to God experience His steadfast love. He answers the prayers of those who wait on Him, in faith. I've had 40+ years of experiencing the depths of God's understanding of me, and dealing lovingly with me (including disciplining me, for "The Lord disciplines those he loves", His written record tells me.) God communicates with those who turn to Him. That's how we know. Those who despise or dismiss the idea that God understands us are those who either don't believe any God exists, or who have turned their backs on their Maker.

Therein lies the rub.  Organized religions want to tell us that God loves us or God will help us or some other characteristic of God.  Atheists want to tell us that God doesn't exist.  But it is also perfectly okay to believe (to feel) the existence of God .. and that's IT.  We humans don't know anything else.  And maybe humans are not capable of understanding anything more about God.  There is a scary thought for both religion and atheists!

You wouldn't if you don't know God, who is 'All-Knowing'.  Wondering if God understands us demonstrates some lack of belief, which troubles our hearts and minds.  The point of faith is not to worry if God "understands" us, but to trust and accept that 'He does', no matter the circumstances we're in.  If you're facing that dilemma as an omniscient human then you better be worried.

Humans need to try to understand God. It's not the other way around.

How do we know that a manufacturer of a product know its limitations ?

God Understands You.  "O Jehovah, you have searched through me, and you know me."-Psalm 139:1.  WHY SOME HAVE DOUBTS:  Many feel that God sees humans only as sinners- unclean and unworthy of his attention.  Kendra, who suffered from depression, felt guilt-ridden depression because she could not measure up perfectly to God's requirements.  As a result, she said, "I stopped praying."  WHAT GOD'S WORD TEACHES:  Jehovah God looks beneath your imperfections and understands who you really are.  "He well knows how we are formed," says the Bible, "remembering that we are dust."  What is more, he does not deal with us "according to our sins," but he mercifully forgives us when we repent.-Psalm 103:10, 14.  Consider David, the Israelite king.  In prayer to God, David said: "Your eyes even saw me as an embryo; all its parts were written in your book...Search through me, O God, and know my heart."  (Psalm 139:16, 23)  Yes, David was convinced that even though he sinned-gravely at times- Jehovah could discern his repentant heart.  Jehovah understands you better than any human does.  "Mere man sees what appears to the eye," the Bible says, "but Jehovah sees into the heart."  (! Samuel 16:7)  God knows what makes you tick-how heredity, the way you grew up, your environment, and your personality all shape the person you are.  He sees and values the person you strive to be, even though you make mistakes.  

Jehovah God knows us better then we know ourselves. he knows every hair on our head. Jehovah never came to earth and Jesus is not Jehovah incarnate. Jesus is the Son of Jehovah who came down to earth to die for us.  Jehovah is the Almighty God and Jesus Christ is a Mighty God and the Holy Spirit is Jehovah's Active Force

That's for each individual who believes in God to answer.  When prayers are answered, even if in an unforeseen way, that could be enough to convince someone that God understands.

Evolution is perfectly designed for humans to survive. God understands what humans need therefore we could exist through his power of creation.

Who understands how the Samsung phone works? Samsung, because the phone is manufactured by the company Samsung. Then why do we doubt that God understands us or not? We are creations of the Divine. May be we were born because of the act of our mother and father, but who created our eyes, our nose, our ears, our tongue? Who gave us millions of neurons? We have thirty trillion cells in the human body; we have a heart that can pump blood to every cell. Who gave us all these? It is a manufacturer, a creator - the creator called God. If God has created us, then why should God have a problem in understanding us? When we realize that every cell of our body is a manifestation of God, such questions will dissolve.

We know it because of these words from Psalm 139: "1.O Jehovah, you have searched through me, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up.You discern my thoughts from afar. 3 You observe me when I travel and when I lie down; You are familiar with all my ways. 4 There is not a word on my tongue, But look! O Jehovah, you already know it well." Jehovah knows not only what are we talking about, but what are we thinking in that moment and before that moment, and all our feelings and wishes....

Because he created us.  He knows our very thoughts.

He knows our innermost thoughts and feelings, a.k.a. the person of the 'heart'. (Jeremiah 11:20; 1 Samuel 16:7) And since He is literally the creator of mankind(Genesis 1:26 & 27), He knows what's best for us, hence why He encourages people to adhere to His principles and commands. (Isaiah 48:17 & 18)

Our prime duty is to understand God not He understands us.

God’s intervention in human affairs is very rare. God doesn't watch each and every human being at the same time and cannot live with each and everyone to guide them. These works are done by the spirits. God had created different kinds of spirits for various purposes. He had made the spirits to watch, guide and determine the destiny of the human beings from their daily activities, talks and thoughts too. Your past determines your present and your present determines your future. God has given freewill to all creatures including human beings. According to this, all human beings have all right to live a life as they wish. But if it happens to be bad and hurts someone, they have to face the consequences. These consequences are created by spirits. It's a natural system. After death no one lives in any form. Heaven and hell are only for spirits, not for human beings. God is a mystery even to the spirits. Spirits are not eternal beings but their lifetime is long. Spirits are separate elements. A human being during his/her lifetime is living with many spirits which have joined one by one since birth. They are knowledge, skills, feelings, emotions, interests and everything. These spirits are your consciousnesses and memories. Even thoughts are not your own. For example, when you want to take a decision on a subject, one after another the spirits think and you just listen, choose or reject the ideas which they transmit to your mind through your brain in the form of thoughts. Brain is just a media to connect the spirits to your mind. A mind is just a computer's mind. A mind is you. After the destruction of a computer completely you will not get it's mind. The same is the case with the human beings.  A human being doesn't have a spiritual body. Soul is nothing but an energy needed for the functionality of a body. It is not a spirit or anything else. A body's functionality is based on the auto mechanism.  After death all spirits which accompanied a person quit and go to different places searching new bodies. No one lives after death in any form. All human beings are just robots made of flesh and bones and toys of the spirits for their games.

I know He understood me enough to tell me to **** off when I asked Him for help overcoming an addiction.  He is pretty smart.  Lot's smarter than I am.  

You don't even know if a god actually exists. You only have faith that god exists, you don't have facts.

The same way we know that God exists - i.e. we don't.

Ask him and then listen carefully.

Does a carpenter know how he built his table, or a painter know how he painted his picture? I think God who created the universe and who created us, can not only understand us, but knows us better than ourselves. It says in the Bible that God has numbered the hairs on our head and knows the name of every star in the sky. That’s a lot more detail than we will ever know about ourselves or would even think to care to know, yet God cares. So yes God does understand you. 

WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES US ABOUT GOD'S INSIGHT: David prayed: "O Jehovah, you have searched through me, and you know me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up. You discern my thoughts from afar. There is not a word on my tongue, but look! O Jehovah, you already know it well." ( Psalm 139:12,4) In addition, Jehovah is aware of our innermost feelings and even "discerns every inclination of the thoughts." (1 Chronicles 28:9; 1 Samuel 16:6,7)  what do these verses reveal about God? Even though we may not vocalize all our prayerful thoughts and feelings, our Creator not only observes what we do but also understands  the good we would like to do, even if our limitations prevent us from carrying out our heartfelt desire. Surely, because God put love in our hearts in the first place, he is willing- even eager- to observe and  understand our loving thoughts and motives. -John 4:7-10... THE SCRIPTURES ASSURE US  "The eyes of Jehovah are on the righteous, and his ears listen to their supplication." - 1 Peter 3:12... God promises: "I will give you insight and instruct you in the way you should go. I will give advice with my eye upon you."- Psalm 32:8... ABSOLUTLY NOTHING ESCAPES GOD'S NOTICE.
