To what extent does God pay attention to us as individuals?

God knows us very very well he knows each and every count of hair we have on our bodies he knows us he made us

YHVH GOD KNOWS OUR NAME.

God is sovereign over all things, including every human being that ever exists.

To this extent as expressed in 1 John 5:14-15, yes, to this extent.

It says that he knows you from beginning to end. He knows why you were made. He put you in this place at this time for his purposes of glory and righteousness, whether you follow him or not. He knows your innermost being better than you know it yourself. He knows every aspect of your body and mind. He knows your every deed and waking thought. He also knows every sin you have ever done. 

None of us are perfect. All of us deserve judgment according to God as we all fall short of what is required to enter into heaven. That is why Christ came. If you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, those sins are cast from you in his sight. He will no longer see them. That means that only the good will remain in his sight. Only those righteous things done will he remember, including the act of trusting in the Son.

God is totally aware of each of us at all times and always has an individualized plan that will help us move in the right path if we do not reject God. Even our trials (whether by our own choices or not) are designed to help us turn our focus to following God and receiving His blessings. God knows that eternal happiness only comes through obedience to correct principles and He is only concerned with our success. God's influence fills the universe and gives life and light to all things. We can feel it everywhere. We can feel the power and influence of God when we turn our face to the sun.

I would guess as much as you think he does.  Myself, I don't think he does at all because he doesn't exist.
