Let w units be the width of the rectangle.
Then, the length of the rectangle = (2w + 2) units

Perimeter of the rectangle:
[w + (2w + 2)] × 2 = 34
3w + 2 = 17
3w = 15
w = 5

Area of the rectangle
= 5 × (2 × 5 + 2) square units
= 60 square units

From the information given length = 12 and width = 5 and so its area is 12*5 = 60 square units

2x+x+2=34/2
3x+2=17
3x=15
x=5

5(5*2+2)=60

Give points.

It’s 60 square units.

I would tell you how to do it but I’m not going to waste my time if you’re not going to spend a few seconds to pick a best answer.
