God inspired all scripture, and about forty holy men of God wrote down those inspirations over a period of about 1400 years.

2 Timothy 3:16 KJV — All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The Holy Spirit inspired it, 2 Pet. 1:20-21, 2 Tim. 3:16.

Many different authors wrote the 73 texts of the Holy Bible, in many different times and places. However, the bishops of the Catholic Church, at the direction of the Pope, compiled the book we know as the Bible, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in the 4'th Century.

The Bible is inspired of God. But some may think, The Bible was written by men, so how can it be from God? The Bible answers: Men spoke from God as they were moved or, guided by holy spirit.

This is similar to a businessman telling his secretary to write a letter. Who is the author of the letter? It is the businessman, not the secretary.

In the same way, the Author of the Bible is God, not the men he used to write it. God guided them to write his thoughts. The Bible really is the word of God.

As you can see by the various books of the Bible, there were a number of people who contributed to it.  Supposedly they were all inspired by God, and the translations were inspired by God, and the editing was inspired by God.   In short, The Bible is supposedly the word of God written through human hands.

Much like a chairman of a company wants to send a letter to someone, he could write or type it himself, but why do that if you don’t have to. If he has a secretary or assistant he will dictate the contents of the letter and approve it with his signature. So the letter is his words and thoughts even though he did not type it or mail it. I think of the Bible in a similar way. God used men to write it, but it is inspired of God, it has God’s stamp of approval. Just like the letter that was sent to someone, the receiver may not like it’s wording and changes it. The same has happened with the Bible, so there are many versions and translations of the Bible. So it’s important that we find a translation of the Bible that’s accurate and easy to understand. So we can learn about Our Creator and his purpose.
