Suppose it is "minus 24" instead of "the difference of 24".

|-24| = 24

Unfortunately, you have NOT asked a complete question.

"difference" implies subtracting two numbers, but you only have one. meaningless....

Your question is unclear.

The difference for which two numbers are you talking about? If you are just asking for 24, then it is 24.

An absolute number can only be positive, which means that the absolute number of any negative value is written with an opposite sign.

Therefore, the absolute value of a positive number is the same number, while the absolute value of a negative number is written as a positive number.

|24 - 48| = 24

By definition, the "difference" of two numbers is always positive and obtained by subtracting the smaller of the two numbers from the larger. Hence the absolute value of a difference is always the difference itself.

The absolute value of a difference of 24 is just 24.
