Not as fun as riding my woman
It is on open roads with little traffic, but no fun in congested cities.
Under the right circumstances, yes.
Commuting in heavy traffic is not one of them...
Depends what car you have. If you have a Prius with the sole intention of showing everyone how green you are how much you love polar bears and worship queen Greta , then NO!
If you have something with loads of power, preferably the ability to corner ( sorry muscle car fans), and so good roads to drive it on, then yes.
@dj2541 sorry people like you are the reason most cars are becoming terrible. You don’t really like driving, you just want it to be a mobile version of your living room.
Yes been driving and Riding since about 1952 when i feel depressed put on the leathers and helmet go for a 2 to 3 Ride come Home refreshed
Some cars are more fun then others. I have driven cars that drove pretty bad especially suv's. Coupes tend to be the most fun
When I'm driving for fun, yes. When I'm running errands it ranges from an ordinary task to a headache.
Can be a Lot of fun,.like an MG midget on Old Spanish trail. Can be a pain in the butt ( commutes, traffic) . I prefer riding my Harley. She makes chores a fun adventure.
DJ: Texters Kill bikers.
Anon: Your stresses belie you "enjoyment". Chill.
I drive on the freeway. Its fun to me.
Driving used to be fun decades ago when I got my driver's license (1969), but nowadays there are too many ignorant, selfish, and generally poor drivers, plus all their normal distractions, like texting, drunk driving, etc. There are also many more drivers today than there used to be just 20 years ago.
Cars are surely easier to drive than they used to be. I can't imagine today's teenagers driving the car that I learned on, when I was 15-16. It was a full-sized car that weighed probably 3800 pounds, had a greatly underpowered inline 6-cylinder engine, with manual steering, manual brakes and a 3-speed manual transmission. Both hands and both feet were required a lot of the time, except when driving continuously on a highway.
I don't think that half of the drivers on the road today are mentally qualified to drive. The average person today doesn't even use turn signals in congested traffic or come to a full stop at a stop sign.
the act of Driving can elicit various emotional states ,
awe amusement anxiety boredom calmness excitement fear joy nostalgia romance
a person can do the ACT of driving for WORK ( earn a living ) CHORES ( everyday activities transportation ) or PLEASURE..............
3 uses of the word fun

from examination the word FUN could apply to driving
Only if you have a Porsche.
I do a 100 klm commute to and from work 5 days a week. It isnt fun but I have made it more tolerable.I drive a Mazda with everything in it possible.Fantastic music system, easy to drive, all the bells and whistles( literally). I connect my iphone into the car and do Youtube music whenever. My 3 adult children are all driving home at the same times and we have a group texting chat or ring each other and see how our days have been? I am getting concerned about my relationship with Siri in my car, I say "hey Siri" and she replies"Hold on a Tic". Its very funney.
Yeah, I have a Mini Cooper and it's a really fun car and pretty fuel efficient
Depends on the car. If you are driving a vehicle to work then it is not your fun car...and you have to get to work on time.
.If it is a weekend and the car is gassed up and you got no where to go in particular, then it can be fun when your vehicle is capable of being "off road" because you got ground clearance. Driving on pavement is repetition of what you do when you go to work.
. When the car has over a foot of clearance between the body and the pavement then you can go on those roads rarely traveled(maybe not in 50 years as they are old skidder trails from when they towed down logs so the road is overgrown with brush. Maybe it goes to a fishing lake hidden in the hills...and this is the back way in. Or for prospecting or camping adventures.
Yes and no. More if it were just me on the flipping road
I used to, when I was a beginner, now I'm a geezr and it's chore now, but I had a stroke too......
Yes, I played a lot of online games posting as a driver. For example: Euro Truck simulator 2. But I preferred taking public transport when travelling to other areas since the public transport network is well developed in my region.
no, I think it is like a daily game of Russian roulette
I stopped thinking driving is fun after I got out of my 'teens.
Personally I think that driving can be fun if you have a reliable vehicle you don't really care about as well as a front/rear dashcam. I stress out about the possibility of someone hitting my car and driving off while in a parking lot or on the road. I also stress out about getting rock chips in my bumper, especially when someone accelerates in front of me and I can hear pebbles hitting my car. I try to drive around very carefully and not get too close to other people's cars, and of course not hit any motorcyclists and animals and turtles and things like that. There are a lot of things you have to worry about, in order to drive safely. But when I'm just on an open road and there's no cars around me at all, yes that can be relaxing to some degree, but you still have to pay attention to not hit any animals.
