The unit of rate constant for an nth-order reaction is M¹⁻ⁿ s⁻¹.
The unit of rate constant for the decomposition of cyclopropane is s⁻¹.
Hence, M¹⁻ⁿ = 0
1 - n = 1
n = 1

For a first order reaction, the half-life is independent of the initial concentration.
Half-life = ln(2)/k = ln(2)/0.0247 s = 28.1 s
