In order to improve our community experience, we are suspending article commenting. How is the community improved when users can't commune?

The article commenting is being done for political motives.   Yahoo is trying to help get Biden elected.   You will notice that all the anti-Trump propaganda is always at the top of the page while you have to scroll down quite a bit to find anything neutral or positive about Trump.   Yahoo is interfering in the upcoming election by freezing out the people that expose the lies they want propagated in the articles they post.

It isn't.  For some reason Verizon loves to do things that no user asked for

Commenting was badly abused and typically added nothing useful to the article, but was used to insult the writer, the topic of the article, or other users leaving comments. ANYONE may link to an article and share it on their own social media, and comment (and allow others to do so as well).

Comments are essential for community participation and the appropriate place for comments is at the source of the article, not social media.  To eliminate comments simply because there are trolls and jerks is weak and lame.  There are also many informed individuals who make excellent contributions to the story.  The comment section also provides good fact checking and exposes  propaganda.   To eliminate the comment section because a few thin skinned, weak people are offended is short sighted .  If you are offended go elsewhere.  Nobody is forcing you to visit the comment section.People who whine about the occasional harsh and rude comment content and say that they are happy about comments being eliminated are selfish professional crybabies.
