A line has vector equation r=(1+k)i-kj+2K, find a vector with magnitude 4 parallel to the line. K is a variable in 2K.

You are given the direction of [1+k,-k,2]. Thus, your sought vector must be parallel to this. And you want that || [1+k,-k,2] || = 4. Solve for k.
