Was Abraham a real person?

Abraham was real, with his justified reality, now he is in heaven!

Yes, there was a real person with that name Abram, at that time. He was a major clan chief. The story (Gen 14.14 and following) of his army is probably the oldest true story in the Bible.

Abraham is considered to be the first Jew.  We know that Judaism exists today, so *someone* must have been the first, so we can call him Abraham, even if that's not his real name.  The Genesis story is just a story to provide a starting point for Judaism.  No one knows precisely how Judaism started.

Jesus Christ believed he was real. ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living (Matthew :32).  If you read other of Jesus' and Paul's quotes of the Old Testament, you will realize they did not think it was a myth. "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—(Romans 5:12)"

No, we do not all think the Torah is mythology.  Much has been written about Abram/Abraham and his wife Sarah.  Their children Isaac & Ishmael and Isaac's children Jacob and Joseph.

Were your mum and dad real people?

If such a person was real, they would have existed over 3500 years ago in a culture that had not developed writing and thus would have not left much or any evidence of their existence.  However, it is not likely that the worship of YHWH started until nearly 1000 years after that, although, again it is hard to tell.
