One yen is worth a bit less than one U.S. cent.  So divide by 100.
8 million of them are worth just under $80,000.

Specifically, at today's exchange rate of 104.98 yen/dollar, it's $76,205

You might feel So Hugh in the English language. But in Japanese, it’s just 800 Man. Yahoo Finance will provide you a converter for every currency. Just use it. It’s not a one time thing in life.

The best way to think of yen to dollars is one yen = one cent, or 100 yen to 1 dollar. I’ve lived in a Japan for the last 22 years. Yes the actual exchange varies some, but that’s the easiest way to consistently think of it. So $80,000
