1. A ray of light strikes a mirror at an angle of 53° to the boundary. What is the angle of reflection? (I'm almost certain its 37 degrees but can you explain why?)

a) 90 degrees

b) 53 degrees

c) 37 degrees

d) 0.80 degrees

2. Dr. Wassername is showing slides to her biology class. If the slides are positioned 15.5 cm from the projector lens that has a focal length of 15.0 cm, where should the screen be placed to produce the clearest image of the slide?

1.
Angle of reflection
= Angle of incidence
= 53°

The answer: b) 53°

====
2.
(1/u) + (1/v) = 1/f
(15.5) + (1/v) = 1/15.0
1/v = (1/15.0) - (1/15.5)
v = 1 / [(1/15.0) - (1/15.5)]
v = 465 cm
v = 4.65 m

The screen should be placed 4.65 m from the lens.

Trick here is 'mirror.
If it arrives at 53 degrees, it leaves at the same angle.
