It is difficult to interpret without knowing what is meant by "attacks." In the first, if it means problems, it could be that problems are becoming (not are become) greater as an indication blessings are not far behind. In the second, it could be that attacks means denial or deprivation and, if so, the meaning would be denial is at its worst when the reward (harvest) is imminent.
There's a name for sayings like this, but I've forgotten it. They're designed to make people feel better about bad stuff happening. They're usually not sincere. They're designed to help people not feel sorry for themselves, by pointing out the 'silver lining'. But usually they don't work.
"The boys at school beat you up and make fun of you and steal stuff from you because they LIKE you!"
"Sure you're unemployed, but now you get to spend more time with your family!"
"You shouldn't have left your keys in your car. But just think, now you'll get a whole new car!"
"Yeah, 150,000 Americans died from the virus (so far) but at least we've all learned to wash our hands!"
