一個英語＂疑問句＂的問題：?

我猜這是綠野仙踪的一句. 

這裏沒有問句. 整句的結構是 句1 and 句2
句1是One of the big trees had been partly chopped through
句2是standing beside it was a man made entirely of tin. 那with an uplifted axe in his hands是形容那個tin man. 句2是倒裝句, 原句是a man made entirely of tin was standing beside it. 這裏的it是指那棵被砍的樹. 

The word seem are used in this pattern. If the infinitive is be with an adjective or noun  as complement, to be may be omitted(unless the adjective is one that is used only predicatively,

Was he a man 怎樣怎樣 ，是 疑問句，問 一個男人 是不是 怎樣怎樣 

而 錫製的人 不是 人類 ，疑問句 就變 was it 

standing beside it(that省略) was a man made entirely of tin. 原來it 出現在此，且是以關係子句出現而非疑問句，至於,with an uplifted axe in his hands,是插入句修飾it，本句重點是要先知道全句所要表達意思，若断章取義則無法分析全句
