acetic acid
benzoic acid
bromine water
butanoic acid
calcium carbide
chlorine water
cyclohexane
cyclohexene
Hexane-1,6-diamine

The common reactions of acetic anhydride include:
acetic anhydride + water → acetic acid
acetic anhydride + alcohol → ester +acetic acid
acetic anhydride + amine/NH₃ → amide + acetic acid

In the list of the compounds, water (in bromine water or chlorine water), hexane-1,6-diamine and alcohols can react with acetic anhydride. They are:

1. water in bromine water or chlorine water
(CH₃CO)₂O + H₂O → 2CH₃COOH

2. hexane-1,6-diamine
(CH₃CO)₂O + H₂N(CH₂)₆NH₂ → CH₃CONH(CH₂)₆NH₃⁺ + CH₃COO⁻

3. isoamyl alcohol
(CH₃CO)₂O + (CH₃)₂CHCH₂CH₂OH → CH₃COOCH₂CH₂CH(CH₃)₂ + CH₃COOH

4. isopropyl alcohol
(CH₃CO)₂O + (CH₃)₂CHOH → CH₃COOCH(CH₃)₂ + CH₃COOH

5. methanol
(CH₃CO)₂O + CH₃OH → CH₃COOCH₃ + CH₃COOH

6. octanol
(CH₃CO)₂O + CH₃(CH₂)₇OH → CH₃COO(CH₂)₇CH₃ + CH₃COOH

7. pentanol
(CH₃CO)₂O + CH₃(CH₂)₄OH → CH₃COO(CH₂)₄CH₃ + CH₃COOH

If you took two ethanoic acid molecules and removed a molecule of water between them you would get the acid anhydride, ethanoic anhydride (old name: acetic anhydride).
