Matthew 13:42-43 — And God shall cast the wicked into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
(Psalm 146:4) His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish.
Why did Jesus speak of death as a sleep?
Because a sleeping person is inactive. During deep sleep there is no consciousness of surroundings or the passing of time. There is no pain or suffering.
Similarly, in death there is no activity or activity or consciousness. But the comparison goes further with sleep.
With sleep, one expects to wake up. And that is exactly the hope that the Bible offers for the dead.
This would be the resurrection that Jesus spoke about.
Jesus’ early disciples clearly understood the true condition of the dead. To the followers of Jesus death was a sleep, and the grave a resting-place.
God knows what happens to us when we die, and he has told us that when a person dies, his life ends. Death is the opposite of life.
So when someone dies, his feelings and memories do not keep on living somewhere else. When we die we can’t see, we can’t hear, and we can’t think anymore.
You are immediately judged by God, and allowed to go to the place of final existence you have freely chosen during your life on Earth - Heaven or Hell.
WHO WILL RETURN TO LIFE? many millions of people who are dead in the grave will return to life on earth. Even some who did not know God and who practiced bad things will be resurrected. Read Luke 23:43; Acts 24:15. Resurrected ones will be able to learn the truth about God and to exercise faith in Jesus by obeying him. ( Revelation 20: 11-13) Those who return to life forever on earth. Read John 5:28.29. WHAT DOSE THE RESURECTION TELL US ABOUT JEHOVAH? God made hope for the dead possible by sending his Son to die for us. So the resurrection tells us about Jehovah's love and undeserved kindness. When the dead return to life whom do you especially want to see? For mor information JW.ORG
When a person dies their soul leaves the flesh body and is resurrected in their spiritual body. Then the person returns to God.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”
1 Corinthians 15:44 "It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."
NO ONE IS GOING TO NEED TO SAY ANYTHING TO GOD, GOD SAYS WHEN WE DIE WE WILL KNOW AS WE HAVE BEEN KNOWN AND WE WILL NOT OPPOSE HIS JUDGMENT WHATEVER IT WILL BE, BECAUSE WE WILL KNOW IT IS THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH WITHOUT A DOUBT AND WE WILL KNOW INSTANTLY WHAT WE GET IS WHAT WE DESERVE, ACCORDING TO OUR FREE WILL! SO IF YOU HAVE HUMBLED YOURSELF BEFORE DEATH AND ASKED FOR FORGIVENESS FROM OUR LORD JESUS, YOU WILL BE WITH HIM FOREVER IN HEAVEN. BUT IF YOU ARE TOO PROUD AND LOVE YOUR SINS MORE THAN GOD WHEN YOU DIE WITHOUT ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS, THEN YOU HAVE CHOSEN YOUR OWN FATE, THE SECOND DEATH HELL.
This would depend on what scriptures you are talking about and what is on the other side is supposed to be a mystery so you want to behave so you can be with those who are loving.
