chemistry question please answer asap?
When K2SO4 is dissolved in water to form a 1.0 M solution, the concentration of each ion in the solution is
Select one:
a. [K+]= 0.50 M and [SO4-2]= 1.0 M
b. [K+]= 1.0 M and [SO4-2]= 1.0 M
c. [K+]= 2.0 M and [SO4-2]= 1.0 M (i think its this one)
d. [K+]= 1.0 M and [SO4-2]= 2.0 M
10 points to whoever gets it right! have been stuck on this question for so long :(

Each mole of K₂SO₄ consists of 2 moles of K⁺ ions and 1 mole of SO₄⁻² ions.
(1.0 mol K₂SO₄ / 1 L solution) × (2 mol K⁺ ions / 1 mol K₂SO₄) = 2.0 M K⁺ ions
(1.0 mol K₂SO₄ / 1 L solution) × (1 mol SO₄⁻² ions / 1 mol K₂SO₄) = 1.0 M SO₄⁻² ions
The answer: c. [K⁺] = 2.0 M and [SO₄⁻²] = 1.0 M
[K+]= 2.0 M and [SO4-2]= 1.0 M
you are right as we get 2 moles of K+ per mole of K2SO4 and 1 mole of SO42-
