The nth term
= -3 - n

The 50th term
= -3 - (50)
= -53

That's essentially a "recipe" or formula for finding any specific term.

a[n] = -3 -n

To find the 50th term, plug in n=50
a[50] = -3 - 50
= -53

Now, I'm assuming that's exactly the formula as written. If there was an exponent somewhere, you didn't show it.

It is simply -3 -50 = -50 because n represents the term number which in this case is 50
