Pt + Cl– + NO3– → PtCl62– + NO.

Since there are 6 Cl-'s on the right, you need 6 Cl-'s on the left.

Oxidation half equation: Pt + 6Cl⁻ → PtCl₆²⁻ + 4e⁻
Reduction half equation: NO₃⁻ + 4H⁺ + 3e⁻ → NO + 2H₂O

(Oxidation half equation)×3 + (Reduction half equation)×4, and cancel 12e⁻ on each side. The balanced overall equation is:
3Pt + 18Cl⁻ + 4NO₃⁻ + 16H⁺ → 3PtCl₆²⁻ + 4NO + 8H₂O

The coefficient on the Cl⁻ = 18
