Where in the Bible does it say that Homosexualism is a sin?

1 Corinthians 6:8-11

8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. 9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Romans 1:26-27

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

I chose this because it refers to the New Testament. The Old Testament states this too, by the way, in Leviticus "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable" (Leviticus 18:22),  "If a man lies with a man as one lies with woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads" (Leviticus 20:13). 

But yea, you want from the New Testament, so that's why I linked the Romans one instead. 

Notice, however, that all the verses are related to people ACTING on homosexuality, not being homosexuals themselves. Of course we are to love everyone, that's the second most important commandment after loving God with all our heart, body and soul. Only the ACT is the sin. In other words, God hates the SIN, not the sinner. 

Romans 1:18-27
That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene.

Here Paul specifically condemned both male and female homosexuality. He condemned homosexual practices as unnatural and “obscene.”

The fact of the matter: It is a sin to be a homosexual read Romans 1:26-27, read Leviticus 18:22, read Leviticus 20:13

Leviticus 20:13 KJV — If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.


Leviticus 18:22 KJV — Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.


1 Corinthians 6:9-10  — Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.


Romans 1:24-28 — God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

The term "homosexuality" did not exist in ancient Israel. In Leviticus 18:22 the Lord states: “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” End of discussion. Sodomy is also identified as an abomination. Cities that practiced such were leveled by God.

Can you be homosexual and not sin? Yes of course. You can be heterosexual and not sin as well.

It says it in several places as other responders point out.  There is ZERO dispute that the bible is anti-homosexuality.  The question is 'should you care'?  

The fact is that EVERY Christian cherry picks what parts of the bible to follow and what parts not to.  And they should!  the bible was written by people whose moral views are archaic.  The bible explicitly advocates slavery.  Yet no Christian would tell you that they are in favor of slavery.  The bible says that disobedient children should be stoned to death.  Yet no Christian does this.  

Yet, when it comes to homosexuality, suddenly SOME Christians think the bible needs to be interpreted literally and they have to follow God's commandments?  Why should one when they ignore other parts they don't like?  The answer is because SOME of them WANT to be homophobic, and they are just holding the bible up as support for what they were going to do and be anyway.

Sinning with your neighbor is totally different from loving your neighbor. 

A person can battle homosexual activity and other sins using the rosary and fasting.  However, simply having same-sex attraction is not a sin.
