But Matthew 18:15-20 says that if you point out another Christian's sin and the person does not repent, then "treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector".
So if you got cheated and harmed by a Christian, and you point that out to the person as in Matthew 18:15-20 and the person does not repent, can't you then file a lawsuit against him?
I was cheated out of a lot of money by another church member. I pointed out his deception and other bad behavior to him. He doesn't care.
I have said that I would not sue because of 1 Corinthians 6, but I am considering telling his church about his behavior (and would do so only without naming him, unless the church does want to act to correct his behavior).
If he doesn't repent then, it's OK to then file a lawsuit against him for the stolen money, right, since he would be treated as a "pagan or a tax collector", not a fellow believer?
Thanks.

We went through mediation, with a pastor and a lawyer. He lied to the pastor and lawyer, and the pastor and lawyer realized that he was lying to them.
