The figure below shows the structural formula of 1,4-dichlorocyclohexane.
The detailed form is shown on the left, and the simplified form is shown on the right.

Draw a hexagon .. with a C at every vertex.
top C has a Cl and a H attached .. that is C=1 .. count around the 'ring' to the 4th C .. and give it a Cl and a H ...  all the other C atomes get 2 H atoms ...   that's it.
