What is the difference between science and religion?

Science is based on observable evidence. Religion is based on faith. Science can't prove or disprove a belief. But religion has no place in science. They pretty much operate completely independently.
Science seeks truth, religion claims to possess it.
One deals with reality the other deals with fairytales
Science is the study of natural realities in natural terms. Religion is the study of supernatural/spiritual realities. There is no overlap between the two. True religion and true science never conflict with each other, because truth cannot conflict with truth.

Science is the accumulation of knowledge while religion is the denial of knowledge.
Same as the difference between astronomy and astrology.
Science is measurable empirically and through experimentation, while religion is faith and experience, with confirmation coming from hypnosis. However, accepting that which consensus dictates, about religion, is a massive mistake!
Science is about HOW, Religion is about WHY.
Albert Einstein had something to say about that. “But science can only be created by those who are thoroughly imbued with the aspiration toward truth and understanding. This source of feeling, however, springs from the sphere of religion. To this there also belongs the faith in the possibility that the regulations valid for the world of existence are rational, that is, comprehensible to reason. I cannot conceive of a genuine scientist without that profound faith. The situation may be expressed by an image: science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.” (Albert Einstein, 1941)
He also said, “I’m not an atheist, and I don’t think I could call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written these books. It does not know how. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn’t know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent being toward God.”
Not so much the difference between science and religion as their connectedness.
