Jesus Christ was GOD IN FLESH.  That's what we are told in (John 1:14) because God needed to come to earth to be crucified for us so that our sins could be atoned for by His precious and perfect, sinless, untainted Blood, but God is a Spirit  - and invisible - so logically, an invisible spirit cannot be crucified.  God needed a body of flesh for that.  So God came to earth in a flesh and blood body and called that person His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who was BOTH 100% God and 100% MAN in the same body.  God in flesh form (John 1:14).  That's why Jesus said, "I and My Father are one" (John 10:30)

He is both. Since Mary was a virgin, he had no earthly father.

Mark 14:61-62 KJV  Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Scripture calls him "God manifest in the flesh."

1 Timothy 3:16 KJV — And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Jesus said he was God's son, Almighty God said that Jesus was his son.

Jesus plainly stated that he was more than a good man. He said: I am God’s Son. John 10:36 Of course, anyone could claim to be the Son of God. But if Jesus’ claim were false, what would that make him? Really, not a good man, but a great fraud!

The most reliable testimony came from God himself. He twice said concerning Jesus: This is my Son. Matthew 3:17; 17:5 Just think: The Scriptures report only a few occasions when God’s own voice was heard on earth yet on two of them he affirmed Jesus as his Son!

This is by far the best proof that Jesus was who he said he was. Jesus never claimed to be God, but he repeatedly spoke of himself as God’s Son. Even his enemies acknowledged this.

Jesus never even suggested that he was God or was equal to him. So to teach such a thing dishonors Jesus.

He is God’s Son. Whereas his father is Almighty God.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. God has no beginning, he has always existed. Jesus Christ in his pre human life in heaven as a spirit Son of God had a beginning as it states at Colossians 1:15 when it says that Jesus was the firstborn of all creation. This speaking about Jesus in his pre human form as there was a lot of creation before Jesus was born as a perfect human male. Jesus in his spirit form was God's very first and only direct creation as God used his Son as a master worker to bring everything else into existence.

If you read the Bible with a Spiritual perspective, you'll understand that Jesus Christ was God himself who appeared in human form.

The bible says he is the Son of God. It also says he was the Word which was God and the Word was made flesh. So I guess he was both.

The Bible states in John chapter 1 that the Word was with God in the beginning and WAS God. The Word made everything that was made (so could not have been made Himself.) Then, at a point in time, the Word became flesh (via the virgin Mary) and dwelt among men till His earthly mission was completed. That's when He was resurrected from the dead (witnessed alive and well by 500 people over a period of 40 days) and was seen ascending bodily back to Heaven, from where He had come.

This means that the uncreated Word of God (who is also called the Son of God) existed from before creation started, and did the creating alongside the Father and the Holy Spirit. The three subsist in the one Being of God. The Almighty is complex, not simple. All three - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, are called 'Mighty' in the Bible, and when the three are together, they form the one Almighty Being of God. They have their distinct roles, and they relate one to the others in particular ways. The Son was sent from Heaven to become the man, Jesus. The Son agreed to come, to be limited for a season to being a human - one of us - and that is why He is also called the Son of Man in the Bible, as well as the Son of God. So, yes, both.

You have been told both because both are true. In fact, both mean the same thing - that God the Father caused a human mother to become pregnant with God the Son and give birth to Him.

The Bible often calls Jesus “the Son of God”, not God. (John 1:49) The expression “Son of God” acknowledges that God is the Creator, or Source, of all life, including that of Jesus. (Psalm 36:9; Revelation 4:11) The Bible does not teach that God literally fathered a child in the same way that humans produce children.

The Bible also calls the angels “sons of the true God.” (Job 1:6) And the Bible says that the first human, Adam, was a “son of God.” (Luke 3:38) However, because Jesus was God’s first creation and the only one created directly by him, the Bible describes Jesus as the foremost Son of God.

God created Jesus before he created anything else. Regarding Jesus, the Bible says:

“He is . . . the firstborn of all creation.”—Colossians 1:15.

He is “the beginning of the creation by God.”—Revelation 3:14.

Jesus fulfilled the prophecy about the one “whose origin is from ancient times, from the days of long ago.”—Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:4-6.

Some people believe that Jesus and God are the same person. But that's not what the Bible teaches. The Bible says that Jesus was created, which means that Jesus had a beginning. But Jehovah, who created all things, had no beginning.  (Psalm 90: 2) as God's Son, Jesus never thought of trying to be God. The Bible clearly teaches that the father is greater than the Son. ( Read John 14: 28; 1 Corinthians 11:3.) Only Jehovah is "God Almighty." (genesis 17:1) He is the greatest and most powerful person in the universe.  Jehovah and his Son, Jesus, worked closely together for billions of years before the heavens and the earth were created. They must have loved  each other very much! ( John 3;35; 14:31) Jesus imitated his father's qualities so well that the Bible calls him "the image of the invisible God."- Colossians 1:15. Jehovah's precious son was willing to leave heaven and be born on earth as a human. How was that possible? Jehovah miraculously transferred his Son's life from heaven to the womb of a virgin named Mary. In this way, Jesus did not need to have a human father. So Mary gave birth to a perfect son, and called him Jesus.- Luke 1:30- 35. foe more information JW.ORG
