Could the coronavirus make it easier to get a job? I was thinking since there's less people in the world there would be less competition?

Or does it not work that way.

No it doesn't work that way.

Do you think that any of the people who died in China were in any way competing for a job in America? Or how about the people in Italy--or all the nursing home inhabitants who have died--how are these people "competing" for jobs?

You can't possibly think that because there is an epidemic you'll be able to find a job more easily. Lord--I've seen some skewed logic in my time, but this one is right up there in the top 3.

No!

Currently 14.5% of the country is out of work, however many of those probably will be going back to work in the next three weeks.

Probably more since there are a lot of people that are unemployed or temporally unemployed. If you're not an essential worker, or part of the economy re opening, you most likely don't have a job to go to. The people that covid 19 is 'killing off' are mainly older people like seniors. Younger people are more likely to fight it off and recover from covid 19.

No.  There are so many unemployed people looking for work, it will be harder to get a job.  But you need to be smarter and look for opportunities most people do not.

It doesn't work that way. If possible, competition will be worse.
By less people, you are thinking of deaths? That is not a good realization if that is the case. Never think that it would be easier just because people are dying.

It'll be harder, because most places are closed. Once you see that the places that "hire" you, won't let you work until the Coronavirus blows over, you'll want this disease to be gone and never come back.

This is also a period of time that most people are staying home and making very little to no money.

Does not work that way.

In general no since there's way more people looking for a job than those who perish from COVID-19.

However, there has been a shift in employment to other industries, and a reluctance among the unemployed to take something different.    Jobs like Amazon warehouse worker, Grocery store delivery\picker\stocker, and meat processor are hiring people almost on the spot.

Depends on the kind of work. I'm pretty sure there have been enough births worldwide
as of 5/16/2020 to compensate for those who have died of the virus.. Among the living,
more will be looking for work, even if paying less than whatever they were doing before.

Yes, you can at least get a job.
