Will an epidemiology certificate help my public health resume if I already have an MPH?

I received my Master’s in Public Health (MPH) two years ago, and have been looking for jobs in epidemiology unsuccessfully ever since. I came to the conclusion that my MPH is probably not enough, and I need more grounding in the field of epidemiology. I was wondering if getting a certification will help my resume at all if I already have an MPH?

Epidemiologists are typically MD + PhD. But with specialized training programs in epidemiology, it might help you get something in that field. What sort of work do you want to do in that field? MPH alone is inadequate, as you are finding out. Highly specialized field.

off hand, it would think that every state department of health is looking to hire more epidemiologists now
