How does an employee go to work 5 days a week and suddenly learn that they were laid off and the business was closed 3 months prior?
If they are closed, you are clearly laid off. They don't need to explicitly say it.
their employees, not there.
If the employees did not figure this out when their paychecks stopped coming, then they are not very bright.
If the employees had stopped going to work and understood they would not be paid until they went back to work there is not much of a case.
Sure they can. We’re you getting paid during those 3 months. If you were then you have nothing to complain about. If you weren’t paid during those 3 months, you should have asked to be furloughed or laid off so you can start unemployment.
Such details. Even a labor lawyer couldn't give you any advice based on that information
Yes. There are very few laws in the U.S. protecting workers' right. If you want more laws, vote for Democrats. If you want the rich employers to have all the rights, vote for Republicans.
