Calculus 12 question?
Find the diameter of a pizza slice with a central angle of 1.50 radians and area of 170cm^2.
回答 (3)
Area of the pizza slice:
(1/2) r² (1.5) = 170 cm²
r = √(2 × 170 / 1.5) cm
Diameter = 2 r
= 2 × √(2 × 170 / 1.5) cm
= 30.1 cm
Area of sector = ½r²θ
where r=radius and θ = central angle
A = ½(d/2)²θ where d = diameter
A = d²θ/8
d² = 8A/θ
d = √(8A/θ)
d = √(8*170/1.50)
d = 30.1 cm
1st solve for area of a circle
A(circle) = A(sector)(2π)/θ
A(circle) = [(170 cm^2)(2π)]/(1.50 rad) = = 680/3π cm^2
solving the radius of a circle
A(circle) = πr^2
r^2 = A(circle)/ π
r = √(A/π)
r = √[(680/3π)/π]
r = 15.055 cm
solving its diameter
d = 2r
d = 2(15.055) = 30.11 cm answer/
