How is American cuisine different from British cuisine? ?

I love the food of America, but I've never eaten any of the food that comes from British cuisine. I feel it's always good to try something new to eat.

Me and my bro have eaten different types of food in our native New York City, but British food never sticks out, but there's lots of restaurants in great Britain that cook American food. Strange.

In my limited (tourist and business travel) experience, the best restaurants in London serve Indian cuisine. I once took a meal in a traditional British cafe. The food was boiled and uninspired, and they had a house dog for entertainment. I live in Florida and a nearby restaurant offers Sunday Roast, which is quite good.

I would say that if you took food that is truly FROM the countries as much as possible - there are many who will say there is no such thing - they wouldn't be as different as you might think. Pretty much meat and potatoes and as always sometimes the meat is chicken and sometimes the potatoes are Yorkshire pudding. Bangers and mash..... We were in London and one of the best meals was venison steak with juniper berries.

Outside of New Orleans, it's basically the same - unseasoned and bland.  I was in UK for 9 years and I ate INDIAN food while I was there.

The biggest difference between traditional Brit cuisine and Brit-based American cuisine is the names they call things and these days, the Brits are just as international as Americans are--consider the tea they're fond of isn't actually British in origin--the saying "for all the tea in China" pretty much speaks to how unBritish tea is. The treats one gets with tea time is shared, except for the name and for the slight variations...like scones vs coffee cake, tho Yankees eat scones too. Brits have historical jelly babies while Yankees have gummy bears (basically the same thing tho). Yankees have jam sandwich cookies and Brits have jammy dodgers, and you really can't tell 'em apart.
