Find the distance between the two values of x at which the function 1/(x^2-4x+3) is discontinuous.

I have always struggled with this concept. Please explain to me how you solved it! Thank you so much!

f(x) = 1/(x² - 4x + 3)
f(x) = 1/[(x - 1)(x - 3)]

f(x) is discontinuous when the denominator is equal to 0, i.e.
(x - 1)(x - 3) = 0
x = 1 or x = 3

Distance between the two values of x
= 3 - 1
= 2

x^2 -4x + 3 = (x-1)(x-3)
so function is discontinuous at x =1 and x = 3 Both require division by 0.
