The Chinese have said they will ban Wet Markets so hopefully they will honour that commitment.
The world's economy depends on China for cheap products so although it makes us angry in the West, I'm afraid we cannot boycott them.
NO! Not all wet markets sold disease-carrying wildlife. The selling of those types of animals is illegal in China. The problem is black market dealers managed to avoid detection by the government and sell them to the public in secret.
Animals in the wet market are killed in a similar way as you westerners do in your slaughterhouses. The difference is the animals are cut into pieces and sold almost immediately after being killed. This means the food sold at the wet markets are 10 times more fresh than those sold at a supermarket. Are you prepared to take away the chances of getting fresh food away from the Chinese?
