How do you ask Optimum to lower your bill?

My dad did something similar years ago with AT&T. He called and asked them if they had any promotions going on that he could take advantage of. Sometimes he got lucky and sometimes he didn't. If you 'threaten' to cancel the service, they may refer you to their customer retention department where they "try" to help you get "better deals". Otherwise, you may need to downgrade to a lower tiered plan.
