And all you have left is maple syrup and beavers to prove it.  If there were anything good about canada, the US would have taken it already.

Because they are not educated, polite and trained, unlike Canadians. They have no culture. They are like Alberta. They tend more to be Christians, conservatives, far-right, wealthy and whites, so they do not take it seriously. They think it is just a hysteria, fantasy, hoax, fake news, simple “communist flu’’ to destabilize their country.

You have sanity running your government. We've had Trump and conservative media pushing the belief that Covid-19 is just another flu that will blow over in a month or two ... Nothing to worry about ... Go shopping.
Keeping the economic numbers looking good has been the all important concern. After all, the flu typically kills tens of thousands anyway. And, this is just another flu that Democrats have been making mountains out of mole hills over.
Republicans have been telling The People coronavirus is no great threat. Fortunately, most of The People have shown themselves not to be the lemmings that Trumpsters are.

Because it is American culture to party anywhere and anytime they like.

Well, if you got to party, doing it outside with more social distance is better than inside in more cramped conditions. Besides, there is less partying by everyone here BECAUSE of the coronavirus. Of those who still go in for big spring break parties and such, are kids who think they are indestructible.
