I watched as that fire
died from its flames
from those eyes, from that soul
I thought needed to be tamed
but when I realized life was too short
things were never the same

when acceptance and love

but words I washed from my mouth
could not from your brain
all the memories and tragedies
like un-washable stains
I had to bottle some stuff

I love pretty much everything by Edgar Allan Poe.

I love "Ozymandias" by Coleridge. Used to be able to recite it. 

"Locksley Hall" by Tennyson is a close second. 

"Andrea del Sarto" by Browing (Robert) is another one I love.

May Sartin is the only one I ever got a book of.  1970s
I think my favorite is one I wrote myself. 

I like the first 12 sonnets by Shakespeare. Works by Faust, Frost, E.D., Poe. "If" by Faulkner. My favorite poems I have published are titled, "Beauty's Sight" the prose and video "It is not Chance." by Josh Alfred. I haven't written anything decent in years. Shakespeare influenced me to write a series of sonnets on Emotions in my early twenties. Now that I am 31 the world of "poetic naturalism" is vague and stale.
