“The stars you planted in the sky,
they will turn into a milky way someday, because underneath that,it is a wonderful world you helped build.”
From the book Finding Identity by Silenus
I watched as that fire
died from its flames
from those eyes, from that soul
I thought needed to be tamed
but when I realized life was too short
things were never the same
and now that you've lost that spark
everything has changed
so I tried to make it up
for all that I wronged
when acceptance and love
was all that you longed
but words I washed from my mouth
could not from your brain
all the memories and tragedies
like un-washable stains
I had to bottle some stuff
Just so I could seem tough
like a red sock In the laundry
need I toss out the door
all the hate that it spread
now pink socks are pink sores
So please forgive me
I promise I've changed
No one is perfect
but I'll do what it takes
Come cry on my shoulders
ive got a hand to lend
come tell me your problems
ive got a back to bend
So I can dare to cover up
What I don't want to replace
Because I need you in my life
For all the fears I can't face
I like the first 12 sonnets by Shakespeare. Works by Faust, Frost, E.D., Poe. "If" by Faulkner. My favorite poems I have published are titled, "Beauty's Sight" the prose and video "It is not Chance." by Josh Alfred. I haven't written anything decent in years. Shakespeare influenced me to write a series of sonnets on Emotions in my early twenties. Now that I am 31 the world of "poetic naturalism" is vague and stale.
