My attitude is that there is no "the flu"... what we call "the flu" is a collection of numerous different strains of virus. Most people who get a flu virus (or the corona virus) will not know unless they are the type of person who runs to the doctor to get tested at the slightest sniffle. Respiratory viruses will always be around, they are always mutating and adapting because we keep creating vaccines so they have to find a way around those. Respiratory viruses are always going to impact certain populations more than most: young children, elderly, and those with weakened immune and/or respiratory systems. Stay home when sick, cover your nose/mouth when you cough/sneeze, wash your hands regularly and especially after contacting public surfaces like shopping carts, it may even be wise during virus season to change one's clothing when coming home from being in the community. Get rest, eat healthy, exercise and don't believe everything you hear in the media... that's my attitude.
