why are prisons in Russia and the United States the most severe ? it doesn't set former prisoners on the right path...?

Prisons in the US are not even close to being near the worst in the world, they are frigging country clubs when compared t many others. That is part of the issue. The continued increase in prisoner rights and comforts. Prison in the US is no longer a place one fears to go, that is a problem.

It is a fact that there are worse prisons in some other parts of the world. Russian and US convicts get beds to sleep on. In some places the prisoners have to sleep standing up because their cells are so crowded.

Erm, your statement is BOGUS and DUMB regarding US prisons. Would you rather be in a Turkish or Columbian or N. Korean prison? 

Rapists and murderers need to be punished... not coddled, loved, and "rehabilitated".

They should have been on the "right path" in the first damn place.
