The abortion/reproductive Rights discussion clearly needs to be reopened and dealt with in the 20th century as it is woefully stuck in the world that existed in 1973.

Your point has merit.  As of today, men have no reproductive Rights whatsoever. This is the law. And the only reason it doesn't change is because politicians are deathly afraid of reopening this debate which has no clear answer to it. In terms of fairness though, it really must be reopened. 

Women have every option available. They can have the child, or legally abandon it in several ways. They can choose abortion, adoption, drop of the unwanted child at a police station, have the baby daddy pay for the child, have another man pay for the child, live with their parents, or have the taxpayer pay via welfare. Full choices as to whether accept any responsibility for her actions, or none. 

Men on the other hand have absolutely NO options. Everything depends on what the woman chooses first. Note that her choice may involve his financial servitude for 18 years with no Rights whatsoever. No Rights with enforced Responsibilities is akin to slavery. That is why we need to have a discussion in order to bring some balance to the situation.

Why not say "if a person doesn't want to become pregnant or become a parent then such person should abstain from lustful premarital sex" ? I mention premarital sex because most cases involving "undesirable pregnancies "are the result of premarital sex.

If you choose to have sex, you are tacitly accepting the possibility that a child will result.  Period.  You can't penalize a living, breathing, already-existing child because you don't happen to like the results of your decision to have sex.

Plenty of feminists have had sons who have fathered children out of wedlock.  In my husband's family, there's such a situation.  The young man's mother -- a high-powered lawyer and feminist -- wasn't happy about it at first, but not because she thought her son shouldn't have to pay child support.  She firmly believed he did have to pay, but she thought the couple had been very irresponsible and were too young to parent. If you reffer to rich couple woman doing abortion this doesn t have to do with abortion i think .abortion reffers to poverty mainly and a poor social level.there are also categories of dramatic situation like teenagers who came from uneducated area but with also families with level of poverty .
