What is the difference between "intervention" and "interference"?

An intervention is the act of getting involved whereas interference is an interruption or act of disturbing what was happening.

intervention is deliberate, interference often isn't

Usually intervention means interrupting to prevent further damage; interference means interrupting to disrupt things
