Watching History drama would help you create some sense and concept into the old world

I used to just read through all my paperwork/books etc and then when I had finished started reading them again.  I found that a lot of things stuck in my mind and when I sat any history exams the answers would pop out of my head.
When it came to dates then I had to match them to something e.g. if I read 1839 then I would think that was 100 years before the start of World War 2 in 1939 a date that I knew by heart.
Everyone has their own little ways of studying/revising and I am sure that you will get a lot of answers with some brilliant ways of doing it.

Remember, most of what you read is written through the eyes of the victor. Try to find the other side. In the US most people think the Civil War was about slavery, not State's Rights. Don't get me wrong, the end of slavery was a good thing. But please, dig deeper.

I need a bit more detail.

Are you asking because you need to study history (Your marks are poor) or because you want to study history?Do you need to remember names, dates, battles and significant events?  Or do you need to know how people lived and worked and why they believed and did what they believed and did?
