New job requires work smart casual wear ?

it's better to overdress than underdress.  you can overdress, then bring something under to change into if they're really strict for some reason.

i would think work smart casual wear is dark wash jeans, a button shirt tucked in, and brown dress shoes.  or maybe dark tennis shoes.  

my company has a relaxed business dress code.  it specifically states we can wear jeans and tennis shoes as long as we're not seeing customers.  so i wear untuck shirts, dark wash jeans, and dark tennis shoes.  i like untuck shirts because they're casual, and you can leave them untucked since they're not super long like normal dress shirts.  gap has a few selection where i got mine.  nice polos, sweaters if it gets cold, etc i'm sure will look fine. 

go to a store and ask an associate for help and advice.  that is what they are there for.  they can pick out clothes that will fit you well and look stylish in.  

if you're working in an office type job, i think that should be fine.  when you get to your job, you can also ask your manager if it's appropriate or if you should change anything next time.  

when you get to work, look at what your co-workers are wearing.  if they dress similarly, use that as a guide going forward.  especially co-workers at your level.  managers and higher may have their own dress policies.
