Americans are American because they were born in the United States or became citizens later through being naturalised. It had nothing to do with their names. Someone of German, English or Irish ancestry can be American just as easily as a person of Indian, Korean or Vietnamese heritage. Judging by the wording of your questions, I often wonder why you're so obsessed with American culture and naming conventions. Your written English is just awful. Are you of Asian heritage? Is that where this silly obsession comes from? That certainly would explain a lot.
If they are living in the US with a US citizenship, then they are Americans, it's not about ethnicity
Unfortunately, yes. You could argue what is defined as 'American,' but for the present, if they are considered American citizens, they are Americans.
Uhm...yes....your name has nothing to do with your citizenship.
Of course. A persons name has nothing to do as to them being an American or not.
I hope you're joking, Ben. If you are really serious and are so ignorant of what constitutes an American, I can only hope you represent a small fraction of my countrymen! .....And "certain" Koreans, Vietnamese, et cetera. I suppose which "certain" ones are Americans and which are not will be determined by you or prejudiced and ignorant people like you.....and because you probably don't know the difference, an ignorant person is not necessarily stupid. I'm pretty sure Einstein was ignorant of cosmetics and their use but I wouldn't call him stupid. I was in the service with a Japanese guy who fought beside me and whose parents had their land confiscated and who were put in concentration camps which were we called internment camps during World War II. I asked him, "Ed, how can you fight for this country after what they did to your parents? He looked at me and said, "Larry, this is my country!! My God, you make me so ashamed!! because you don't realize we are all brothers; we are all Americans, and we would all fight for this country, and many of your "certain" Koreans, Vietnamese, Indians, Japanese, and every other so called "race" (there is only one and it's called human), have given their blood and lives for all of us!....... "This land is your land; this land is my land,..."
By the way, Ed died in Korea.
Yes, if you're an American citizen then you're, oh why god what a twist, an AMERICAN! It's doesn't matter what you ethnicity is or your name.
Guys, it's not a difficult concept.
Your question does not make sense.
