Can a 30 old guy date a 44 year old woman? What’s your first reaction. ?

Commonality is more important than age.

Well, Hugh Jackman is 14 years younger than his wife. There are other examples, but it's not that unusual. 

Of course you CAN. But DON'T DO IT! It will steal your youth. It may seem fine when you're 30 and she's 44. But you will never retire together unless one of you is wealthy enough to support the other and pay for your healthcare since she will be on medicare in 21 years and you'll have 14 more years to go. She will go through menopause within the next 4-9 years and she will lose her s*x drive. You will end up giving up your friends because yours are too immature for her. You will be at the peak of your life and she maybe too tired to do anything or keep up. You don't have the same cultural references because you essentially grew up in different generations. Obviously you are not having kids with a 44 year old woman unless you adopt, but if you do, as they move out, you'll think you finally get your life back, but you won't. You'll then be taking care of her. I would never recommend this to anyone ever. Although I am still married to my older partner, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. It might be different if I traded my youth for financial security but I didn't. This is a bad deal. Find someone your own age that you can grow old with. That maybe you want to start a family with. That remembers watching teenage mutant ninja turtles and barely remembers life before the internet. It's not to say that it can't work out. It's just not a wise decision.

My first thought was cool good for you guys!

I know a woman who is 37 and she is married to a 59 year old man and they have 3 kids and they are very happy. So it can work and work out well. A guy who is 30 can date a woman 15 years or more his senior. My first reaction is well, there is several years difference but age is just a number.

Not me, but you need to think about the age difference,10/20 years ahead.

Why not?? I'm 50 & my girlfriend is 37. We been happily together for over 6yrs.
