I can't imagine how one could be a Christian without understanding that the soul/mind exists separately from the material body.

We are not bodies that have souls.
We are souls that currently have bodies.
(Mind is a product of the soul, not the body.)

[C. S. Lewis said something like this, but I could not find the exact quote.]

Awkward question, because unless 100% of the 2,200,000,000 Christians in the world do "actively" believe that, then the answer would be no!

*I suspect you may not have asked the question you thought you asked!

If one believes in an incorporeal God, then yes.  I would guess that "all" Christians don't fall into the same category as to what is believed.

Yes, there can, God being the prime example, and angels being lesser examples of the same thing. In addition are humans who have died physically.

If you mean the organ called the brain: NO. If you mean the element of a person that enables them to be aware of the world and their experiences, to think, and to feel; the faculty of consciousness and thought: YES.

All minds are connected in with God's mind. That's how prayer works.

The good teachers are patient, which God is. God doesn't make judgments in relation to time and certainly not death, two things he knows nothing about because He didn't create them, so they are just in our minds and not in our Christ mind.

Our mind is a part of the body our spirit and soul use while we are here on this Earth.

That will be the state of the deceased until the resurrection.

there can BE ! a mind without the brain. because there is a spirit body without the blood. its called the resurrection. the spirit body has substance that can feel and be separate from the body. i wouldn't believe this except i heard Bill Weiss describe his 23 minutes in hell. ive been to outer darkness, and my experience was not as bad as his. ive been in a prison cell of darkness only to have a door open up and light come through. i walked to the door. and woke up. i stood on the outside and watched by grandfather come forth out of a cell dressed in all black. he looked at me as it seemed one of the other persons told him who i was. He smiled. i was not in my body when i went to outer darkness, but visions can be similitudes and dreams. and by dreams it seems like i am actually there. i stood in the presence of Jesus, watching myself float out of my body and into the morning sunrise. i think i was spiritually removed from the physical presence of my body at that time. i had two follow up visions at the same Time as this first one. but i opened my eyes and it seemed like i was in a different place.

Jon, if you really want to answer his questions, it would be simpler to just make a new account and go anonymous.

No. There can be a soul without a body, but the soul is not the same thing as the mind.

Yes, example Walt Disney
